Voice Of One

This Is A Picture Of My Wifey, Temiloluwa Ninuolaoluwa Obisesan In The Voice Of One T-shirt.

*Back Track* Two Weeks Earlier. On A Sunday At Church.
Temi: Nifemi, Are You Going To The Voice Of One Thingy? The Youth One?
Me: No. Why?
Temi: I Wanna Go But I Dont Want To Sign Up Alone.
Me: Ask Tomiwa Or Tomi. I'd Rather Sleep In Than Come Out At 10.00am On A Saturday Morning.
Unknown To Us, My Youth Cordinator And My Mum Were Standing Behind Us And Overheard Our Whole Conversation.
Miss Yejide: NifemiOluwa? *she calls my name in-out* Why Wont You Go To VO1? Aunty! *refering to my mum* Why Cant Nifemi Go To Voice Of One?
Mum: Ask Her. Let Her Answer For Herself Because I'm Not Stopping Her.
Miss Yejide: Oya! NifemiOluwa, Before I Open My Eyes, I Want Your Name On That List. How Will My Teens President Not Go To VO1?
Urrrgh!! All These Nigerian People, Forcing Someone To Do Things. More Reasons Why I have To Move To School Really Quick. So I walked Up To The Booth And Put Down My Name And In Revenge, I also Put Down The Names Of All My Wifeys And Friends.
Me: *to myself* Its Not Only Me That'll Suffer Under The Hot Sun *evil grin*
Then I Got The Email. Schedule and Times. My Phone Went Off. My Friends Were Cussing At Me For Putting Down Their Names. Hahahaha You Think I'd Do It Alone? You Are All Dreaming

*fast track* two weeks. Saturday morning
So today, I woke up around 8:00am and my mum dropped my brother and I at the church at 9:00am.
Efe: Ahh! Nife, I've been waiting for you. Hand out T-shirts for me, would you?
Me: why would you wait for me? #rme
Efe: Because I knew you'd come early *smile*.
Efe's the youth president *big kids president as i like to call him. we are all youths. we are just divided into younger youth and older youth as far as i'm concerned* and I'm the teen's president so we work together a lot. I gave him that i-know-you-are-lying-but-i'd-do-it-anyways look
Liar! He's just looking for someone to do his work. He didnt even know if I was coming or not but I couldnt say no *troubles of being the teens president* In October when I turn 18, let someone come and tell me to sort out shirts. Mscheeeew!
Other Youth started filing in at 10.00am and I was handing out the T-shirts. Funny how all these older kids think they can be rude to me because they are older. Ahhh! "No "please", no t-shirt #shikena".
Then we went into the sanctuary for the overview and prayers. Afterwards we were divided onti groups.
Miss Yejide: Everybody, pair up. I'll distribute the teams myself.
I was still skeptical about this whole idea. This is not typically something i'd be caught doing.
Temi, Tomi. Tomiwa (The Wifeys): Nifemi, be my partner!!
Ahh! My head grew out of proportion. Everybody wanted to be my partner. heheheheh #Sweegs!
I ended up being partners with Tibaba because the wifeys were fighting and they had to find other partners for themselves.
Tibabalase is this really cute 21year old who doesnt talk much. I was asking him about his summer and whatnot and he was giving me one word answers. *#rme this is gonna be a long day*. We got to be on Brampton Team Two with my most favorite adult as the team leader. Ahh! Maybe it wouldnt be bad after all. Then we all got on the bus, chatting off and dropping people at their spots. Then we got to bramelea which is my team's spot

*by the way*
Voice of One is an innitiative by my church (RCCG, House of praise, Mississauga, ON *www.houseofpraise.ca*). It is a program where we go out and preach to people and tell them about God. They dont necessarily have to be converted. We just share the goodnews with them. Trust me, a lot of Canadians dont know about God so VO1 is very ncesessary.

Tibaba and I got the bus terminal. Great! The exact place where the sun is really hot and where kids from my school come to alot. I remember how Jehovah witness people come to my house and I would not give them attention. Who would listen to me? I was going to sit under a shade with sunglasses on and just go back to the bus after the time is up but i saw girl with her dad and sister and i had the urge to talk to her so i did. *i guess its the HOLY SPIRIT...hehe*
Sheridan is 8years old and her sister, Chiristina is 2years old. They've never been to church but they know Jesus is this big guy who lives up there *pointing to sky* for a reason they dont know. They think he's some fairy god or something *lol, i was impulsed to laugh and i did*. I told them about the summer quest for kids coming up in church and I won them over when i said, "there's gonna be a bouncy castle and a water slide". what kid wouldnt like that? So yes! Daddy is bringing them to church next week. yaaaay! One family down, One million to go. I felt energised.
Although a lot of people ignored us, Tibaba and I jointly converted 3people, gave further information to about 23people and talked to 44people in total in two hours...Glory be to God.
I didnt want to be a part of this at first but I'm glad i did. I am happy I helped lay the foundation to someone's salvation. Its nice and there's this feeling of fulfillment when things like that happen.
Afterwards, Tibaba and I talked all the way back to the bus and hey! he's not a snubby kid as i used to think. he's a great talkative and fun to be with. my team leader was really happy with the outcome and so she took us to McDonald's. Yes! "McDonalds with the team" i tweeted. All my wifeys and friends were jealous. "its temi/tomi/tomiwa's fault i wasnt on yur team nife". they were blaming each other but I had a fulfilled day. We sat there talking about our experince and taking team stats and pictures.
My team has a bbq at the team leader's house next week and I have a new friend, Tibaba. Voice of One has taught me to not be ashamed of or be afraid to preach the goodnews to people. this is a new experience and it got me really pumped. I wanna do it again. I'm not a "holy Jesus girl" I AM A JESUS GIRL and I'm not afraid to say it.
